CTDUT has established a partnership with SIMDUT
25/01/2016 - CTDUT has established a partnership with SIMDUT Pipeline Thermo-hydraulic Simulation Group of PUC-Rio, and is now conducting transient hydraulic simulations of gas and liquid pipelines. SIMDUT has a large experience on pipeline modeling, having conducted simulations of all gas and liquid pipelines in Brazil. The studies employ commercially available software as Sinergy Pipeline Simulator by DNV-GL and Pipeline Studio by Energy Solutions. Also, a number of in-house codes were developed for specific applications. All studies and analysis are conducted according to international standards such as, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, API 5L, API 520, API 526, API 610, among others. Recent simulation studies were conducted for the following applications:
- Hydraulic design of new pipelines and expansions
- Simulation and planning of pigging operations
- Simulation of pipeline inertization operations
- Design of pipeline safety systems
- Verification of pipeline operational conditions
- Analysis of strategic gas storage capacity in pipeline networks
- Studies of motorized valves
- Prediction of maximum leakage volume
- Development of simulators for training pipeline operators
- Training of pipeline operators
